A family tradition that goes back 250 years

For generations our family has preserved the art of Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena PDO with passion and respect for time-honoured Modenese traditions. I am the oldest of five siblings who grew up with traditional balsamic vinegar, breathing in it its unmistakable aromas, studying the development of the vinegar in the barrels, enthused and excited when our mother Mirella won prizes and awards, and proudly observing the amazement on the faces of friends and visitors when they finally tasted it.

Our love for balsamic vinegar was passed onto us by mother Mirella, who inherited her love for it from her mother Giuseppina, but the family tradition goes back at least as far as the mid-18th century and received extra impetus in 1893 when Achille was born, the first and last son born after the six sisters.

Together with our mother Mirella, we founded a new company in the 1980s called Fattorie Giacobazzi S.r.l. and began exporting Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI and Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena PDO all over the world, enjoying lots of success thanks to the superior quality of our products, result of the extremely long ageing process. Today I am focused solely on Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale because it is the history and pride of our family and a tradition that we must pass down.
